Tour Program
Today’s excursion offers a rich blend of cultural and natural wonders, as it takes you through a region that once bore witness to the grandeur of the Roman Empire.
We begin our journey at Volubilis, a historic Amazigh (Berber) Romanized city located on the banks of the Khoumane River, just outside Meknes. As you explore these remarkable Roman ruins, you’ll marvel at the well-preserved mosaics, ancient basilicas, and grand triumphal arches, gaining insight into a once-thriving civilization.
Our next stop is the sacred city of Moulay Idriss, an important spiritual site and pilgrimage destination named after Morocco’s first Islamic ruler. Nestled in the hills, this holy city exudes a tranquil atmosphere, with winding alleys and whitewashed buildings that hold centuries of history and tradition.
We then continue to Meknes, the impressive 4th imperial city of Morocco, crafted by Sultan Moulay Ismail. This city is the realization of his ambitious vision, featuring grandiose monuments, splendid gardens, and majestic terraces. Our visit includes the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a testament to the architectural brilliance of the era.
Meknes’s charm lies not only in its historical significance but also in its picturesque setting, surrounded by lush landscapes at the foot of the Zerhoun mountain. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Meknes captivates with its harmonious blend of nature and history, making this an unforgettable experience.
